Rejuvenate and heal the soul at the wellness spa, sprawling across 25,000-square-feet. With retreat programmes focused on yoga, Ayurvedic therapies, detox, weight loss and relaxation, Ananda in the Himalayas caters to a variety of guests and tailors each stay to meet the guests' wellness needs and goals. Retreat programmes can be shortened or extended as needed, and typically run for 5, 7, 14, or 21 days.

Ananda’s rooms, suites and villas are designed with classic elegance to complement the colonial architecture and the royal Palace estate. Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, the resort blends seamlessly with the lush surrounding landscapes. Each elegant room features panoramic views of the valley or of the Palace. With a serene and natural feel, each room is a haven in itself with luxurious beds, perfectly appointed bathrooms with bathtubs overlooking landscaped gardens or the valley, and private balconies with picture-perfect views. The rooms at Ananda display panoramic views and a luxurious bathtub. Each room is kitted with fresh cotton Kurta pyjamas, aromatic baths, healthy ginger honey lemon tea, a choice of pillows, WiFi, tea makers and bathroom amenities.

Garden Suite
There are three Garden Suites which either face the Valley or the Maharaja's Palace. These rooms offer charm with their large bathrooms and secluded private gardens.

Ananda Suite
Situated on the ground floor and overlooking the valley, the Ananda Suite features a large private garden and gazebo setting, with an extra powder room in the bathroom.

Viceregal Suite
The Viceregal Suite comprises of a dressing room, a private terrace and a roof gazebo overlooking the stunning Ganga Valley — reminiscent of India's regal past.

Ananda Villas
Each elegant Ananda Villa is appointed a pantry for the butler, a dressing room, a private sauna and stunning view of the private swimming pool.
Healthy cuisine is a key focus for guests at Ananda, taking in principles of Ayurveda in its menus. There is a large emphasis on fresh, natural ingredients which are low in fat and calories, and use of whole grains, lean proteins and avoiding added artificial flavours to any dish.

Ananda features a variety of in-house dining options. The spa’s signature restaurant features the finest Indian, Asian and Western cuisine. Based on the basic values of traditional cooking, the Restaurant explores new vistas in modern gastronomy, with emphasis on a light and healthy meal. Keeping in mind the long duration of stay of the guests, the la carte menu changes every four months according to the season. Guests can choose to dine in the restaurant, decorated with Yantric art; the Tree Top Deck, an outdoor venue with views over the forests and mountains; or the Pavilion, a casual yet elegant setting for drinks and light snacks.

For a light bite or afternoon refreshment, visit The Tea Lounge. Located in the Viceregal Palace, it is a warm, romantic setting for an afternoon cup of tea and light snacks. The lounge walls are adorned with the portraits of the erstwhile Maharaja and the other political dignitaries who visited Narendra Nagar during the reign of the Maharaja.

Guests can also opt for poolside or private dining, for a more intimate experience.

Located on the 100-acre Maharaja’s Palace Estate, Ananda is surrounded by graceful Sal forests and overlooks the spiritual town of Rishikesh and the Ganges river valley. Ananda is a 45-minute drive from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun.

By Air
There are many flights from Delhi International Airport to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, taking around 45 minutes in the air, followed by a 40-minute picturesque drive to the spa.

Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Air India and Indigo operate daily flights from Delhi to Dehradun. 

By Train
There are daily train schedules operating from Delhi to Haridwar for a more scenic route. The train juorney takes 4.5 hours to Haridwar, followed by a 90-minute drive to Ananda in the Himalayas.

By Helicopter
Holicopter transfers can be arranged and takes approximately two hours from Delhi to Ananda's private helipad.

By Car
It takes approximately 5 hours (depending on traffic) to drive from Delhi to Ananda. It is less recommended to drive due to the unpredictable nature of traffic conditions.
