Six Senses Vana

3-21 Night Vana Retreat The Way Of Vana

overview

Meaning ‘forest’ in Sanskrit, Vana Retreat provides a luxury Indian oasis to detox, de-stress and reset the mind. Taking inspiration from nature's nourishing, nurturing and selfless qualities, the retreat hosts yoga, healing and weight loss programmes.

The retreat is dedicated to ecology and creating a guilt-free, sustainable experience for all. Vana uses certified organic bed and bath linen and bamboo flooring in all our guest rooms and its bottling plant saves up to 100,000 plastic bottles each year, and they use 100% post-consumer recycled waste paper for all stationery and biodegradable materials wherever possible. A further contribution to the environment, the retreat harvests rainwater, grow organic herbs and salads and only buys what is seasonal and available locally. In March 2015, Vana achieved its LEED Platinum Certification from the US Green Building Council, making it India’s first retreat to have attained this standard.

Embark on a deeper journey with Vana at the 14-Night Vana The Way Of Vana retreat for spiritual healing. This immersion combines pillars of wisdom, wellness, learning and giving and reconnects awareness through nature and meditation, all guided by the in-house experts. Feel a sense of transformation on this programme, physically, emotionally and mindfully through the specialised diet plans, holistic treatments and physical activities during your stay.

The shown price is for the 3-night retreat — please contact our team regarding a longer stay.

At Six Senses Vana, the private living spaces bring together various elements of their design philosophy: contemporary aesthetics, bespoke and natural materials, exceptional comfort, thoughtful lighting, design, and simplicity. The 66 rooms and 16 suites on the estate peer into the ancient Sal forest or the gardens and fruit orchards, all with balconies or terraces.

With a neutral palette of colours and art created by Spanish architectural company Esteva i Esteva, the rooms evoke a sense of harmony and wellbeing, allowing guests to rest, reflect and connect with nature.

At Six Senses Vana, there are different types of accommodation available. The Forest and Garden Rooms have the same layout and are comfortably appointed for a guest on their own or two guests together. With its unique layout, the Bodhi Suite provides intimacy in its living room and bedroom, and the ability to meditate or have a private treatment in its petite meditation room. The Forest Suites, with their generous living room, feel ethereal and almost part of the forest in front of them. The Esteva Suite pays homage to Six Senses Vana’s architects and is special for the natural light that enters it, along with its sense of space. The Vana suite enjoys a 180-degree view of the hills and the forest and is the most generous suite at Vana.

At Six Senses Vana, a nutritious culinary experience is vital. The cuisine is mindfully put together to complement each guest’s retreat and encourages guests to see food differently—an experience that delights, nourishes and heals.

Six Senses Vana’s menus include vegetarian and vegan choices as well as mindfully sourced meat, fish and poultry. The cuisine team produces everything from bread and butter to wasabi and ice creams in the on-site kitchens. Six Senses
Vana believes in using local, seasonal, fresh and organic produce as much as possible and sources indigenous varieties. In keeping with their values, they do not use air-freight food, nor do they use refined sugars, grains or oils.

Salana offers lunch and dinner every day with indoor and outdoor settings. Anayu is derived from the Sanskrit words “ana” and “ayu” meaning “nourishment/food” and “life” and brings together Indian-inspired recipes and Ayurvedic principles.

The resort encourages its guests to enjoy tea time and to balance your doshas with a blend that favours Vata, Pitta, or Kapha.
