Desa Seni is a cultural art village in the heart of Canggu, Bali. The resort is the vision of two friends, who have reconstructed a traditional Indonesian village with beautiful antique houses sourced from around the country. The wellness village offers holistic packages of yoga, spa and personalised retreats.

This four-week training course, offered by a dedicated and passionate group of educators, is designed to shed light on the many facets of Yoga and to deliver powerful teaching techniques covering topics such as class theming, mindful sequencing, biomechanical alignment, understanding of the energy body and sound and vibration. Our intention is to guide individual students towards their unique true expression as a practitioner or a teacher of this incredible and personal evolutionary path.

From cabins to suites to homes, Desa Seni offers a wide variety of accommodation. Book into the village resort, an art village showcasing culture, religions and traditions from the archipelago of Indonesia, or enjoy the unique original wooden homes at the hotel, where each home is imported from one of the many islands of Indonesia before being carefully and lovingly restored and refurbished. All accommodation offered by Desa Seni speaks out to the artistic soul, and allows each guest to sink into the artistic beauty of both natural and man-made works of art.

The resort offers 6 accommodation types, as follows: 

The Village Cabin, a small house suitable for a single person with a private bathroom and rain shower, a lovely front porch and a private garden, located very close to the pool. 

The Shared Houses have two private bedrooms and two private bathrooms. The common space is a shared living room with wonderful outdoor spaces. These houses have lovely views of the tropical lush gardens. You will have private use of one bedroom and bathroom and share the common space with another person.

The Village Houses have one bedroom with a king bed only, and a private bathroom with rain shower. Great old charm and comfort, furnished with antique art objects and furniture. A beautiful front porch offers views of our organic farming, surrounded by beautiful gardens.

The Deluxe Houses have one bedroom which can be set with a king bed or two single beds. There is a spacious bathroom with rain shower as well as a sitting area and desk. The large front porch offers wonderful views of our organic vegetable gardens and tropical gardens.

The Suite Houses have very large living areas with wonderful front porches overlooking our tropical gardens. These houses can accommodate up to four people with any bed type. They have large bathrooms with rain shower and his and her sinks. Furnished with original antiques and housing part of the permanent art collection, these houses have very spacious living areas.

The Village Homes have two bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms with rain shower, living and dining areas and a great garden terrace. They can accommodate up to four people very comfortably and are ideal for families or a group of friends. Our oldest homes with original carvings and art from the permanent collection, each bedroom can be set with either a king bed or two single beds.

Desa Seni offers an eclectic Asian-Western fusion cuisine. Its focus on organic, healthy and fresh food makes every meal a delight, and your body can rest easy with the knowledge that 80% of all food served is homegrown. Desa Seni works with local businesses, and the restaurant is open for all meals and set in a beautiful tropical.

All guests are given breakfast as part of their stay, while lunch and dinner are available to order from the a la carte menu. Breakfast is a 'Banjaar Plate': fresh tangerine juice, seasonal fruit platter, fresh coffee or tea plus your choice of one a la carte plate, from blueberry mango pancakes to omelettes.

    Bernd Windhofer

    Bernd Windhofer works with the tools of Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, the Buddha’s Dharma and study in order to plumb the depths of experience and to always give each student exactly what he or she needs, with a passion for helping to ease the suffering of others. Bernd is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor at the E-RYT 200 level, where you can expect to be challenged in his classes, but always with kindness and care.

    Charlotte Castangia

    Charlotte Castangia is an ERYT-500 in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow style yoga. She has been a dancer for 20 years then finally found her essence through yoga. She began her journey in India embracing all aspects of yoga and she deeply believes in the origins and the roots of the yoga tradition. She also believes that today a modern approach is needed and therefore she combines her knowledge in anatomy and alignment skills in her teaching method. Her classes have constantly evolved over the past 5 years because of her deep devotion to the practice, and she firmly believes that in addition to being a teacher she will remain an eternal student.
